What affects the cost of a funeral

The £3,999 package covers a complete weekday cremation. A few things can change the final figure, and we explain each one before you commit to anything.

  • The crematorium and the day — each crematorium sets its own fee, and services on certain days can cost more. {{TODO: confirm — weekend / bank-holiday supplements}}
  • Distance and transfers — collection within 15 miles is included; beyond that, extra mileage is charged at £1.50 per mile, and additional transfers (for example to your home or place of worship) are £270 each.
  • Extra viewings — a chapel viewing is included; each additional viewing appointment is £150.
  • Burial rather than cremation — burial is arranged on request and priced separately. {{TODO: confirm — burial pricing}}
  • Repatriation to India — where you wish to bring your loved one home to India, we arrange it and quote for it individually.

Help with funeral costs

If money is a worry, please tell us. There may be Government support you can claim, and we will never pressure you into anything you cannot afford.

The DWP Funeral Expenses Payment

If you or your partner receive certain benefits — such as Universal Credit, Pension Credit, Income Support or Housing Benefit — you may qualify for the Government’s Funeral Expenses Payment towards the cost of a funeral. It is claimed from the Department for Work and Pensions on form SF200 (a separate form is used for a child).

Call us on 01922 438503 and we will explain whether you are likely to be eligible and help you through the claim. {{TODO: confirm — any in-house payment or instalment options}}
